Dear MNLL Families & Volunteers,
As you know, last night, May 6th the MNLL Board convened to discuss the potential for continuing our playing season during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a lengthy discussion, the board has sadly decided to cancel our Spring 2020 playing season. This was an extremely difficult decision and one that we do not take lightly. We feel we waited as long as possible to make a final decision, but ultimately were left with few options but to cancel. Several other leagues in our district and our geographic area had canceled as of our meeting last night. This left us no teams to play for several of our divisions. Please know many factors were taken into consideration including physical distancing regulations put forth by the State of Oregon. The safety of our players and their families is of utmost importance. Constantly changing guidelines and information about COVID-19 leaves too many factors out of our hands to ensure that our playing season is the best it can be.
The board is continually working behind the scenes to keep our facility running by doing clean up on a regular basis. We are still working with Michael from SpringFall Landscape to get our irrigation system up and running fully. Even though we are not playing this season, it is our mission to continue to improve the facility itself to provide an incredible playing season in 2021. We will continue to hold our monthly board meetings, and all are welcome to attend. At this juncture they are video conferences. If you are interested in attending a virtual meeting please let us know and we can send you the link. Our next meeting is May 21 at 6:00pm.
If you would like to continue to support MNLL, we are moving forward with selling our discount cards to benefit local sponsors and the league. There will be an opportunity for individuals to purchase the discount cards as well as for families to sell them on behalf of the league. Purchasing and participation is completely optional and there is no obligation to take part in this if you are not able to.
Our cards usually sell for $20, but we have discounted them to $10 for purchase. There will be incentives for selling and be prizes for the top three sellers (TBD at this time).
Our fundraiser coordinator and treasurer are working out the details on moving forward with this. We plan to launch this effort in the next couple of weeks, so please stay tuned. Emails will go out with instructions on how to purchase and/or pick up cards to sell.
While we hoped to be able to host activities over the summer of some kind, we are still unsure if that will be doable based on the guidelines set forth by the governor today. We will keep everyone updated via Facebook and email as usual.
